Another world game

This game had plenty. Before the first pitch, there was already built-in tension for the starters: Gerrit Cole and Jack Flaherty, two right-handers who grew up in Southern California. https://prendasnatal.net/23andme-s-financial-collapse-from-billions-to-nearly-worthless/ The Dodgers had tried desperately to sign Cole when he was a free agent, and the Yankees tried to trade for Flaherty in July only to back away, and the two men, now playing against their one-time suitors, spent the early innings one-upping each other.

The tens of millions who watched it, in the United States and Japan and around the world, know that they did. Great baseball can be as filled with good (Jazz Chisholm Jr. stealing second and third before scoring in the 10th inning) as it is with bad (he was able to do so because of Treinen’s slow delivery). It can include great defense (Dodgers shortstop Tommy Edman saving a run in the sixth knocking by keeping a grounder in the infield) and unsightly (both of the Yankees’ corner outfielders playing doubles into triples).

LOS ANGELES — About an hour after the closest thing to a perfect baseball game possible, Freddie Freeman stood near home plate at Dodger Stadium, where he had just ended Game 1 of the World Series with an extra-inning grand slam, and tried to explain what had just happened. Over 10 innings and 3 hours, 27 minutes, the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees morphed from a pitchers’ duel into a hitting and baserunning clinic into strategic theater into an indelible highlight among the 120 years of World Series. Baseball at its finest comes in many forms. This game somehow managed to cram them all into one.

Who won the world series game last night

The runs were all scored off reliever Luke Weaver, the Yankeesโ€™ closer who had pitched remarkably throughout October. Inheriting a bases-loaded, no-out jam, Weaver gave up the tying and eventual winning run on the sacrifice flies, which were sandwiched around a catcherโ€™s interference that allowed superstar Shohei Ohtani to reach base.

โ€œIโ€™ve definitely got to step up, and Iโ€™ve got to do my job,โ€ Judge said. โ€œGuys around me are doing their jobs, getting on base, and Iโ€™m failing at backing them up. Weโ€™ve got to turn it around in Game 3.โ€

8:15 p.m. โ€” Freeman can’t keep his momentum from the past handful of games and flies out to Verdugo, ending the top of the first with the score barred at zero. Torres is up first for the Yankees against Flaherty.

โ€œYou canโ€™t give a good team like that extra outs,โ€ Judge said. โ€œIt starts with me there in the line drive coming in, misplay that. So that doesnโ€™t happen then I think we got a different story tonight.โ€

โ€œThis is a team coming in setting a lot of records, had high expectations and delivered. This is a manifestation of all that hard work,โ€ Jimenez said while being soaked by the LA squad. โ€œYouโ€™ve got the celebration, youโ€™ve got the beer poured on it and, most importantly, you get the World Series trophy.โ€

Kay Vess, her merqaal companion Nix must travel across these worlds securing work with the shady cartels that inhabit the dark shadow cast by the Galactic Empire, meeting new and familiar faces from the greater Star Wars universe.

It helps that it all meaningfully ties back into some of your central rewards, too. Remember how I got free access to the Pyke base after warning Gorak of that betrayal? An hour later, I was sneaking through a Pyke outpost trying to steal an equipment upgrade, but I got caught and had to shoot my way out. Suddenly, my reputation with the syndicate was shot and I was no longer welcome in their territory, which would inevitably make future dealings with the Pykes even trickier.

Massive does deserve praise for the gameโ€™s accessibility options, which are so numerous as to be borderline overwhelming (thankfully, they come with some presets). The โ€œdifficultyโ€ setting is really just a gameplay preset of dials for elements such as enemy health and combat intensity. Each preset lists off the specific options it changes, so you can use them as starting points and then tweak individual settings. It allows any player to tailor huge aspects of the game to their liking so that the experience is right for them, which should just be an industry norm at this point. The aforementioned QTE for eating snacks can be turned off, for example. And regardless of oneโ€™s point of view on the notorious โ€œyellow paintโ€ wayfinding markers, there are options to disable them entirely, or to change their color and opacity so that theyโ€™re still visible but more understated.

The open world segments have a few breadcrumbs and intel here and there, but I do think the culmination of the open world design mastered by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is evident here. Take a path towards your objective but if you get distracted and something catches your eye go for it!

There are four planets you can visit in OUTLAWS, each at a slightly different scale. Toshara is land of prairies and mesas, Tattoine sandy rocky and unforgiving, Kijimi is a packed snowy city and Akiva is a drenched jungle. If you throw in the more linear casino city of Canto Bight which bookends the whole experience that makes it five.

On the PS5 dashboard, the little tagline for Outlaws when itโ€™s selected reads, โ€œIf youโ€™re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.โ€ I honestly wish Massive had taken its own advice there. I suspect Outlaws was intended to be โ€” and I use this term with deep skepticism โ€” โ€œimmersiveโ€: a huge Star Wars world you could โ€œget lost inโ€ and โ€œinhabitโ€ while doing the endless array of things there are to do within. Thatโ€™s really the open-world game promise in a nutshell: Come visit, and you can feel like you โ€œliveโ€ here.
